On 16th November 2024, Dr. Samrat Jankar and the Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Center, Pune, proudly hosted a comprehensive Fistula-in-Ano Live Operative Workshop. The event brought together nine colorectal surgeons from across India, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and skill enhancement in the field of fistula management.
The workshop features:
- In-depth lectures on modern anal anatomy, perspectives on fistula classification, and advanced surgical techniques.
- Live surgical demonstrations of seven cases, ranging from simple to complex fistula-in-ano, providing practical insights into different approaches.
- Preoperative discussions on MRI fistulograms for each case, offering a deeper understanding of diagnostic imaging.
- A standout session on MRI fistulograms, led by expert radiologist Dr. Amol Sir and his team, included a guided tour of the MRI room, covering the basics of MRI fistulogram acquisition and interpretation. This segment highlighted the importance of advanced imaging in fistula management.
The program concluded with the distribution of participation certificates by Dr. Prasad Bhanap Sir, the Medical Superintendent of Symbiosis Hospital, acknowledging the efforts of all attendees.
