Successful SEPA Activity on Fistula in Ano at Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Center

Dr. Samrat Jankar and the entire team at Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Center are delighted to share that on August 30, 2024, we successfully hosted a SEPA (Surgical Education and Professional Advancement) activity under the prestigious banner of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). This single-day workshop focused on Fistula in Ano and brought together 20 surgeons from various parts of the country to enhance their knowledge and surgical skills in this complex area.

The workshop was designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training. We offered detailed lectures on the diagnosis and management of fistula, with a special focus on MRI fistulography, delivered by an expert radiologist. This advanced imaging technique is crucial for accurately assessing the fistula tract, which significantly influences surgical planning and outcomes.

The highlight of the day was the live demonstration of seven fistula cases, ranging from simple to highly complex. Each surgery was preceded by a detailed presentation of the corresponding MRI fistulogram findings, giving participants an in-depth understanding of how imaging correlates with surgical techniques.

We are immensely grateful to ASI for providing us with the opportunity to conduct this SEPA activity at our institution. The workshop was not only a platform for sharing knowledge but also for fostering collaboration and enhancing surgical expertise among the participants. We look forward to hosting more such educational events in the future to continue our commitment to advancing surgical education and patient care.

Thank you to all the participants, speakers, and the organizing team for making this event a resounding success.
